Are you tired of seeing your belly fat? Ready to commit to getting rid of it, no matter what it takes? Belly fat might be stubborn but if you're willing to put in the effort you can get rid of it. Better still, you can start burning your belly fat away today.
Here are 10 great ways to start burning your belly fat now:
1. Drink at least 2 glasses of green tea per day
Any herbal tea is better than pop or juice (most juice has an astonishing amount of sugar in it) but green tea has at least some evidence that it might boost your metabolism. Even if it isn't a metabolism booster, green tea also has strong anti-oxidant features and the flavonols in tea might help regulate blood pressure.
2. Cut back on alcohol
As delicious as they might be, your favorite alcoholic drinks are full of empty calories. This is true whether you drink beer, wine or cocktails. The occasional drink won't undo all the other hard work you're doing but you shouldn't be drinking more than one or two in a night and certainly not more than once a week.
3. Drink more water
Water is good for you for all kinds of reasons. It helps cleanse your system and fills up your stomach so you won't feel as hungry throughout the day. If you drink a lot of pop and/or juice, switching to only drinking water and green tea is a sure way to lose some belly fat.
4. Watch your vitamin intake
Stubborn belly fat can sometimes be representative of a vitamin deficiency, specifically a deficiency of vitamins related to fat loss. One of the prime suspects is Vitamin D, sometimes called the happy vitamin because it dramatically impacts your mood. A study in Italy found that people suffering from vitamin D deficiency "lost more weight and had greater reductions in their waistlines" when they took vitamin D supplements alongside a calorie-reduced diet. All it takes is 15-20 minutes of sunshine daily to allow your skin to generate vitamin D from cholesterol.

You should also make sure your diet is rich in vitamin C and vitamin E to give yourself the best chance of losing that belly fat.
5. Do interval training
The interval training model involves running or biking at your fastest speed for one or two minutes followed by a couple minutes of regular walking and repeating the cycle. A 20 minute interval training session will help kick your metabolism into high gear so you're constantly burning more fat.
6. Eat smaller, more frequent meals
The best way to keep your metabolism going at an even level throughout the day is to eat six small meals instead of three larger ones. Your three main meals can still be larger than the meals you eat in between.
7. Bring some healthy fats on board
Your body actually needs healthy fats in order to burn off the fat you're trying to get rid of. If you've been on a low-fat or no-fat diet perhaps the issue is that you need to bring healthy fats back in. Great sources for healthy fats include olive oil, peanut butter and avocados. The fat you want to try to cut out is saturated fat.
8. Go for high-protein, low-calorie dinners
While you want to make sure some of your meals and snacks have a decent amount of healthy fat, you want most of your meals to be high-protein and low-calorie. A great example would be a grilled chicken breast with a cup of steamed spinach. Salmon or other fish are also great ways to get your protein.
9. Reduce stress(or at least the hormone)
Cortisol has been shown to make your body produce more belly fat. The factors that cause stress also frequently eat up a lot of time that could be used to exercise or make healthy meals. If you can find a few ways to significantly reduce the stress in your life you'll notice the difference in your weight loss journey right away. And if you're struggling to figure out how to de-stress you can eat certain foods like chick peas to reduce the amount of cortisol your body is producing.
10. Sleep well
One of the most common health issues today is sleep deprivation, and it really does affect every area of your life, including—especially—your weight. Sleep is essential for repairing your body after an intense workout and for having the energy to complete your next workout. Getting more sleep will also help reduce the level of stress you're feeling. If you can get to bed even an hour earlier every night your body will reap the rewards.
